Prof. Jens Roehrich and HPC Research Fellow Jas Kalra at the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) Event

Professor Jens Roehrich and HPC Research Fellow Jas Kalra recently attended an event hosted by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), South West. Professor Jens Roehrich, HPC Chair in Supply Chain Innovation and Deborah Beveridge, Senior Commercial Lead, EDF Energy spoke at length about the exciting collaboration between EDF Energy and University of Bath, which has led to incorporation of HPC Supply Chain Innovation Lab. Jens, Deborah and Jas discussed how such collaborations between academia and businesses are mutually beneficial. For example, working with EDF Energy on HPC megaproject have led to development of novel insights from a ‘live’ project and teaching material for students studying supply chains and project management. In turn, the university researchers work with EDF Energy as ‘critical friends’, providing them with objective insights from latest research on managing complex supply networks and megaprojects. We eagerly look forward to taking this collaboration forward over the coming years.
